Educator and CSD Graduate Kane Dennison-Gomez Launches Campaign for Christina School Board
NEW CASTLE COUNTY, DE – Today, Kane Dennison-Gomez, an educator, community advocate, and lifelong product of the Christina School District, officially launched his campaign for the Christina School District Board of Education. This announcement follows the successful submission and completion of all required candidate paperwork and background checks with the Department of Elections. Grounded in his direct experience as a student, a paraeducator, and a social services professional, the campaign will focus on empowering educators, ensuring excellence for every child, and building authentic partnerships with families and the community.
“The future of our community flows through the halls of our schools,” said Dennison-Gomez. “As a neurodivergent student who attended Jones, McVey, Kirk, and Glasgow, I learned firsthand how much a supportive school environment matters—and the lasting impact when those supports aren’t there. I’m not running against anything; I’m running for a future where every single child is seen, supported, and has a champion fighting for them on our school board.”
Dennison-Gomez’s platform is built on a foundation of firsthand experience. Having worked as a paraeducator in Christina classrooms and in critical state departments serving children and families, he brings a 360-degree understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing the district. His campaign will prioritize:
-
Uplifting the Educator Workforce: Fighting for competitive compensation, meaningful professional development, and a culture of respect that values educators as the professionals they are.
-
Achieving Excellence for Every Child: Focusing on strong foundational skills while expanding career and technical pathways and ensuring equitable resources for all schools.
-
Fostering True Community Partnerships: Implementing transparent, two-way communication to ensure families are treated as essential partners in their child’s education.
As a proud member of the disability and LGBTQ+ communities, Dennison-Gomez believes that authentic representation is critical for good governance.
“Our students deserve to see leaders who reflect their own experiences and who will fight for their right to be their full selves safely and openly in our schools,” Dennison-Gomez stated. “This campaign is about building a school district that doesn’t just tolerate diversity, but celebrates it as our greatest strength. It’s about working together—with our parents, our teachers, and our community—to reclaim the promise of public education for every child. I am ready to get to work.”
